Dzukou Valley is one of the few real Northeast India treks you can do over a single weekend without burning extra leave. We run a fixed batch most Fridays. Here's exactly what the three days look like, and what it costs.
The Three Days
Day 1: Dimapur to Kisama/Kigwema. The trip starts with pickup from Dimapur around 10:30 AM, except Sundays. If you're coming from Guwahati, there's no separate TOB pickup there, it's a train journey: catch one leaving around 6:20 AM and you'll reach Dimapur in time. From Dimapur, we drive to Kisama/Kigwema, visit Kisama Heritage Village on the way, and check into a homestay for the night. Dinner included.
Day 2: Kisama/Kigwema to Dzukou Base Camp. After breakfast we drive to Viswema, the trek starting point. The climb starts steep, about an hour to an hour and a half, then eases into roughly 3 more hours through rolling hillocks before reaching the base camp. This is where you stay overnight, in a tent or dorm depending on availability, with a clear view out over the valley. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Day 3: Valley and Return. Early morning, we descend from base camp into the valley itself, about a kilometer down, 40 minutes to an hour depending on pace. This is where you walk the valley floor and get the classic Dzukou photos. The climb back up to base camp takes a bit longer, roughly 55 minutes to an hour and 20 minutes. From there it's the trek back to Viswema, a drive to Kisama/Kigwema to freshen up, and the return journey to Dimapur, with an evening drop. Breakfast included.

Price and Group Size
₹6,500 per person, ex-Dimapur, minimum group of 5 to run a batch. Group sizes typically run 8 to 12 people, averaging 8 to 10. Solo travelers are welcome and join the existing weekend group rather than needing their own minimum.
What's Included
All transfers from the starting point, accommodation on a sharing basis (homestay at Kisama/Kigwema, tent or dorm at base camp), entry fees, a local guide, and meals: dinner on day 1, breakfast/lunch/dinner on day 2, and breakfast on day 3.
What's Not Included
Travel insurance, the trek permit (see below), and personal expenses.
Permit and What to Carry
The trek needs an entry permit, applied for online with self-verification, and it isn't included in the package price, sort this out before you travel. Bring good hiking shoes, a backpack with a rain cover, a raincoat or poncho, thermals and a warm jacket, trek pants, a 2-liter water bottle, sunglasses and a cap, extra socks, a headlamp or torch, a power bank, and your own first-aid and toiletries.
