Shergaon Getaway : 2 Days of Calm in the Mountains

We start early from Guwahati and make our way through Balemu, continuing our journey via Kalaktang. The drive is peaceful, with quiet roads, pine-covered hills, and small villages along the way. By afternoon, we reach Shergaon, a charming mountain village where time seems to slow down. After lunch, we unwind and take in the calm of the place. Later, we visit Jigaon Monastery, a serene spot surrounded by fluttering prayer flags and forested slopes. As evening sets in, we return to our stay for dinner and rest. Overnight stay in Shergaon.

After breakfast, we explore Zenbu Gompa and the Choskorong Waterfall, where clear mountain water flows through pine woods. If time and season allow, we also stop by the apple orchards and the local fish farm for a glimpse of village life. Post lunch, we begin our return journey to Guwahati. We’re expected to reach by around 8 PM.
