Mechuka and Anini are two of Arunachal's most remote valleys, and this trip connects them properly rather than treating either as a rushed add-on. Nine days gives real time in both: Mechuka's monasteries, villages, and hanging bridge, then the long push further east to Anini's waterfalls and the Dri Valley.
Detailed Itinerary
Dibrugarh to Aalo
We pick you up from Dibrugarh and begin the drive to Aalo, through lush green landscapes and river valleys. We check in by evening. Overnight stay in Aalo. Distance: approx. 180 km | Travel time: 5-6 hrs
Aalo to Mechuka
After breakfast, we continue toward Mechuka valley, stopping briefly at Siko Dido Waterfall along the way. We reach Mechuka by evening. Overnight stay in Mechuka. Distance: approx. 180 km | Travel time: 6-7 hrs
Mechuka Exploration
Today we visit Old Gompa and explore Lamang Village, taking in the calm pace and culture of the valley. Overnight stay in Mechuka.
Mechuka Local Exploration
We continue exploring Mechuka, visiting Dorjeeling Village, New Gompa, and the valley's iconic hanging bridge. A short hike toward Mechuka La Pass is optional, time permitting. Overnight stay in Mechuka.
Mechuka to Aalo
After breakfast, we begin the return drive to Aalo, retracing the scenic valley route. Overnight stay in Aalo. Distance: approx. 180 km | Travel time: 6-7 hrs
Aalo to Roing
After breakfast, we continue toward Roing, moving into the Dibang Valley region as the landscape shifts again. Overnight stay in Roing. Distance: approx. 150 km | Travel time: 5-6 hrs
Roing to Anini
After breakfast, we drive deeper into Arunachal's remote valleys toward Anini, reaching by evening. Overnight stay in Anini. Distance: approx. 230 km | Travel time: 7-8 hrs
Anini Exploration
Today is spent exploring the landscapes around Anini: Chigu Camp, Mawu Waterfall, Bruni Waterfall, and the Dri Valley region, with a relaxed pace and short walks throughout. Overnight stay in Anini.
Anini to Dibrugarh
Early morning, we begin the long return drive to Dibrugarh, reaching by evening for drop-off at the airport or railway station. Distance: approx. 320 km | Travel time: 10-11 hrs
