No. Both destinations are reached from Tawang in opposite directions, and combining them in one day makes for an extremely long, tiring drive. We cover them as two separate day trips, each returning to Tawang.

Day 1

Guwahati to Dirang

We start early from Guwahati and begin the drive towards the hills of Arunachal Pradesh. After breakfast en route, we continue through Tezpur and the Koliya Bhumura Bridge, stopping at Nameri National Park and Bhalukpong. We visit the Tipi Orchidarium before reaching Dirang by evening. Overnight stay in Dirang Distance: Approx. 380 km

Day 2

Dirang to Tawang via Sela Pass

After breakfast, we continue towards Tawang via the iconic Sela Pass, stopping briefly at Sela Lake and Jaswant Garh War Memorial along the way. We reach Tawang by evening and check in. Overnight stay in Tawang Distance: Approx. 150 km

Day 3

Tawang Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, we spend the day exploring Tawang. We visit Tawang Monastery, the largest in India, followed by the Buddha Park and the Chakzam Suspension Bridge. The evening is free to explore the local market. Overnight stay in Tawang

Day 4

Bumla Pass, Madhuri Lake & PTSO Lake

After an early breakfast, we head towards Bumla Pass at the Indo-China border. We continue to Madhuri Lake and PTSO Lake before returning to Tawang by afternoon. Overnight stay in Tawang Distance: Approx. 74 km round trip

Day 5

Excursion to Zemithang

After breakfast, we drive towards Zemithang via Lumla, visiting the Gorsam Chorten stupa and the Chumi Gyatse waterfalls near the Indo-Bhutan border. We return to Tawang by evening. Overnight stay in Tawang Distance: Approx. 90-100 km each way

Day 6

Tawang to Sangti Valley

After breakfast, we begin the return journey towards Dirang, continuing further to Sangti Valley, a quiet valley known for its orchards and its wintering black-necked cranes. We check in by evening. Overnight stay in Sangti Valley Distance: Approx. 165 km

Day 7

Sangti Valley to Guwahati

After breakfast, we begin the drive back to Guwahati, dropping you at the airport or railway station by evening. Distance: Approx. 300 km
