Mago sits at 11,762 ft and serves as the gateway to Gorichen Peak, Arunachal Pradesh's highest peak. The valley is home to a large yak-herding community with over 1,000 yaks, along with the Topkey hot springs on the Goshu Chu river. From Mago, a short walking trail leads to Jithang, a doable same-day walk with real mountain views, not a multi-day trek.
