Detailed Itinerary
Guwahati to Emangre
We pick you up from Guwahati at 7 AM and begin the drive south. We stop for breakfast in Rajapara, then continue on to Ronjeng for lunch around 1 PM. The final stretch brings us into Emangre village by evening, around 5-6 PM, where we check in at a local homestay. Overnight stay in Emangre.
Wari Chora Canyon & Jadisil Fish Sanctuary
After breakfast, we head out to Wari Chora, roughly an hour away by offroad pickup truck. From there, it's a 45-minute to 1-hour hike to reach the canyon itself, a 45-foot-deep, 500-meter gorge walled in by cliffs on both sides. Local legend holds it's home to seven giant serpents. Once inside, we get you into a kayak to experience the canyon properly, gliding between the rock walls with a local guide, mandatory here both for safety and because the local community controls access to the canyon. Back at the homestay for lunch, then we move on to Jadisil Fish Sanctuary, about 30 minutes by vehicle followed by a 20-minute walk, a quiet, community-protected site that's part of the same local ecosystem stewardship that's kept Wari Chora itself off the mainstream Meghalaya map. Overnight stay in Emangre.
Siju Cave to Guwahati
After breakfast, we head to Siju Cave, also known locally as Dobakkol or the Bat Cave, one of India's longest limestone caves at over 4.7 km surveyed length, home to as many as 9 species of bats. We take time to explore before beginning the return journey to Guwahati, reaching by evening. Inclusions
